Welcome to Retrograde Walks. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) outline the rules for using our website and pet care services. By booking with us, you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our services.

1. SCOPE OF SERVICES
Retrograde Walks offers professional pet care and dog walking in Manhattan, NY, Hoboken, NJ, and Jersey City, NJ. We reserve the right to modify or pause services at any time.

2. ELIGIBILITY
To book our services, you must be 18 years or older and the legal owner or authorized guardian of the dog. You represent that all provided information is truthful and complete.

3. SCHEDULING & BOOKINGS
All appointments must be requested through our official online system or direct contact. A booking is only confirmed once you receive a formal notification from us. We reserve the right to decline any booking for safety or behavioral reasons.

4. CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW POLICY
To support our dedicated walkers, we enforce the following cancellation fees:
Standard Walk Policy
• Over 24 hours notice: No charge.
• Within 24 hours of service: 50% fee applies.
• Within 4 hours or No-Show: 100% fee applies (includes inability to access the dog).

Holiday & Peak Dates
• Cancellations within 48 hours of a holiday booking will incur a 100% service fee.

How to Modify
Use our booking portal or contact us directly. Cancellations are valid only upon our written confirmation. In cases of extreme weather or emergencies, we may waive fees at our discretion.

5. PAYMENT TERMS
Rates are displayed on our website and are subject to change, though confirmed rates will be honored. Payment is due as per the booking agreement. Overdue accounts may lead to a suspension of services.

6. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As the client, you agree to:
• Disclose all health, behavioral, and special needs of your dog.
• Maintain current vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and local licensing.
• Provide safe home access and functional equipment (leashes, harnesses, etc.).
• Accept liability for any injuries or damages caused by your pet to others.

7. SAFETY & MEDICAL EMERGENCIES
Urban walking involves inherent risks like traffic and environmental hazards. We may alter routes to ensure your dog’s safety during extreme heat or storms.

Medical Emergencies: If your pet requires urgent care, we will attempt to reach you immediately. If unreachable, you authorize us to seek veterinary treatment and make health decisions in the dog's best interest. You are responsible for all associated medical costs.

8. ACCESS & SECURITY
By providing keys or codes, you certify you have the authority to grant us entry. We store all access tools securely without address labels. We are not liable for malfunctions regarding locks or alarm systems.

9. MEDIA CONSENT
We may capture photos or videos of your pet for updates or marketing. We protect your privacy by never sharing your address or full name. You may opt-out of this at any time via email.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Retrograde Walks is not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question, except where prohibited by law.

11. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to protect and hold Retrograde Walks harmless from any legal claims, losses, or expenses resulting from your dog’s actions or your breach of these Terms.

12. UPDATES TO TERMS
We may revise these Terms occasionally. The "Last Updated" date will reflect changes. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
